The Baton of Hope’s UK-Wide Tour to Return in 2027

Your chance to be part of this unique event: location bids now open for our third Tour, taking place in September 2027 building on the success of two previous events.

The Baton of Hope is delighted to reveal that our next nationwide Tour will take place in September 2027, with applications for location bids now being accepted for next year’s event.

The announcement follows on from the success of our inaugural Tour in 2023, which launched The Baton of Hope, and our second UK-wide Tour last year, which was endorsed by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.

The deadline for those submitting applications is Sunday 31st May 2026 and successful locations will be notified and announced in the summer.

The Baton – the world’s first physical symbol of hope – was created by Thomas Lyte, which has held a Royal Warrant since 2015 and are goldsmiths and silversmiths to King Charles III. It will yet again embark on a Tour around the UK, being carried by Baton Bearers who have been impacted by suicide or by those who share our mission of a zero-suicide society, reaching communities up and down the country.

Mike McCarthy, Co-Founder & Chair of The Baton of Hope, said: “We are proud to say that in just a few years we have been able to establish The Baton of Hope Tour as a key event in the national calendar touching thousands of people.

“With your support, we plan to return with the iconic symbol of mental wellbeing for another poignant series of dates. For the many locations who have already approached us and those yet to follow – we now declare the application process OPEN!”

In 2023, the Tour included 12 locations and over 900 Baton Bearers who carried the Baton for approximately 2,300 miles to spread the message of hope within their local areas. Last year’s Tour featured 20 locations, 1,500 volunteers and more than 1,300 Baton Bearers, who covered a total distance of around 2,500 miles.
