Bradley: 108km Running Challenge
I ran from Festival Place Shopping Centre in Basingstoke to Trafalgar Square in London all in one day, which ended up being 108km. Originally it was supposed to be 96km but due to some detours it was longer! I wanted to show people you can achieve great things when you push yourself outside of your comfort zone. A little secret – the longest I’d run before that was 42km, the same distance as a marathon.
I chose The Baton Of Hope to fundraise for because of their incredible work on suicide prevention and the awareness and tools they give people to help themselves and others who are struggling with their mental health. I’ve struggled with my own mental health previously and have been at the stage before of not wanting to carry on, so I know how hard it can be.
We’ve also had a suicide in the family back in 2010 and charities like The Baton Of Hope really do support and help people during the toughest moments.
In total, I raised £1,140 for The Baton of Hope.
