Jo is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and an experienced Mental Health First Aid Instructor with over 20 years’ experience in HR, working across SMEs, FTSE 100 organisations, higher education, local government and manufacturing. As an HR Director, Jo has sadly experienced the impact of suicide within the workplaces she supports and regularly meets people affected by loss due to suicide. This has shaped her commitment to breaking down stigma around mental health and empowering people to speak up when they are worried about themselves or others. Jo is the founder of People Planet Purpose and is passionate about helping organisations create cultures where people feel safe to talk openly about how they are feeling and look out for one another. She contributed to the Baton of Hope Workplace Pledge and is committed to ensuring suicide prevention becomes a shared responsibility within working life.
