Ambassador Will Vaulks to Host Suicide Prevention Workshop

The Baton of Hope has partnered with the Professional Footballers Club, Oxford United, to host the event.

Professional Footballer Will Vaulks, who is an Ambassador for The Baton of Hope, will be delivering a free community workshop next month in Oxford, focused on highlighting and raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention & awareness.

Taking place at the Kassam Stadium – the home of Oxford United F.C. where Will plays for – on Tuesday 17th March from 6pm, the ticketed event will see Will talking about his personal experiences and the impact of suicide on his life, including the loss of both of his grandfathers, the highs and lows of his career, and honest insights around resilience and mental health.

The Baton of Hope will also be offering attendees practical guidance during the mental health session, as well as access to online and in-person training to support ongoing education and awareness around mental health and suicide prevention & awareness.

Will, who was recently named the winner of the Player Voice Award in the 2025 FIFPRO Merit Awards, is fully funding this workshop following his award win and using a €10,000 grant to put back into suicide prevention initiatives including the Suicide Awareness & Prevention course delivered by The Baton of Hope, with the face-to-face training recently receiving accreditation from the Royal Society of Public Health.

Ben Wilson, The Baton of Hope’s Clinical Director, added: “I have seen Will deliver this powerful talk many times now – sharing his vulnerability and the highs and lows of his professional career in an uplifting and entertaining way. He is a wonderful ambassador for us and the world of suicide prevention.

“His passion is inspiring and we hope he will inspire many people to undertake our life-saving training.”
